TCA MASK 20% & 30%
2 clay masks containing chelated trichloroacetic acid ( TCA ) for medium depth peeling.
20% TCA mask with glycolic acid liquid TCA at 30-45%
30% TCA mask has the same biological effect as 45-55% liquid TCA
Because the TCA is chelated by the silica in the clay it binds to corneocyte proteins causing epidermolysis but preventing deeper penetration.
Unlike the other peels it stimulates renewal of the skins elastin and collagen deeper in the skins dermis. More effective for acnes scarring and deeper lines.
Results in a medium depth peel which causes the longest down time.
Oedema of the tissues may occur in sundamaged skin and is a normal response due to dermal irritation and subsequent dermal restructuring. It should be transient (1 day). Peeling occurs at day 5 and may last for 10-14 days. A follow up consultation is given around day 14.
Strict after care and sun avoidance is necessary.
